This error happens when you are trying to connect your device with a friend's device.
Now, the most common reason for this issue is that the name of your friend's device is not matching with your phone’s name. So, if you are having this problem then follow these steps:
Step 1: First, open up the Gaia GPS app on your phone.
Step 2: Now tap on “Settings” and then tap on “Preferences”.
Step 3: Now select “Sync” tab from there and check whether any other device is syncing or not. If no other device is syncing then check whether your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or not.
Step 4: If all these steps have been done successfully then now try connecting again with your friend's device by going back to step 1 and doing all the steps again as mentioned above until you get successful sync between both devices.
